The government is actively working to address the recent tensions in Khagrachari and Rangamati, following incidents that led to loss of life. A delegation, led by Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, is scheduled to visit both districts on Saturday to assess the situation.
The Chief Adviser’s press office expressed deep concern over the recent assaults and the tragic events that unfolded, urging the public to refrain from taking the law into their own hands. "Acts of violence and destruction are serious offenses," the statement emphasized.
Law enforcement agencies have been instructed to exercise restraint and prioritize the safety of all residents in the three hill districts. The government is committed to a thorough investigation of the violent incidents, with plans to establish a strong investigative committee to hold those responsible accountable. Additionally, the authorities have been directed to ensure that those injured receive appropriate medical care.
The government reiterated its dedication to fostering peace and harmony in the region and called on everyone to contribute to a peaceful resolution.
