As regional tensions escalate, Israelis are being advised on how to prepare for potential attacks. Supermarkets are seeing a surge in basic goods sales.

The Victory supermarket chain in Israel reported a 30% increase in the sale of essentials like canned food, cereals, pasta, toilet paper, frozen meat, bottled water, and hygiene wipes. 

The Jerusalem municipality has issued emergency guidelines, including a list of parking lots and bomb shelters, urging residents to reach shelters within 90 seconds. They recommend that residents clean and prepare their bomb shelters, stock up on food and water for three days, and keep batteries, flashlights, and medications on hand. Power outages lasting several days are also anticipated.

International travel disruptions have occurred, with Air India suspending flights to Tel Aviv.

Context: Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has declared Iran’s intention to avenge the assassination of Hamas' political leader Ismail Haniyeh, which Iran attributes to Israel. Reports suggest Khamenei has ordered a direct strike on Israel. Israel has not confirmed or denied involvement in Haniyeh's death.

Israeli Strike Kills Four Relatives of Social Media Personalities

An Israeli airstrike in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, has killed four relatives of social media figures Awad and Hayma Barbakh, according to Gaza Civil Defense.

The Barbakh couple, known for their humorous videos on YouTube and TikTok, have used their online earnings to support displaced families through a street kitchen and cash aid.
