Despite this, the teachers approached the Calcutta High Court, which directed the municipality to release their pending salaries. However, the municipality challenged the decision in a division bench, which also ruled in favor of the teachers. The salaries were eventually paid. Behrampur Municipality Chairman Nadugopal Mukhopadhyay commented on the matter, saying, "Teachers are not just educators; they are like parents to the students. Such allegations against them are shameful. The police will investigate and take appropriate action."
