Robbery at Jeweller’s Residence in Kaliganj, Gazipur

A daring robbery occurred at the residence of Pradip Karmakar (65), a local jeweller, in Deotola village under Jangalia union of Kaliganj upazila, Gazipur. The incident took place in the early hours of Monday, February 24, 2025.
Incident Details
A group of 4-5 masked robbers used a bamboo ladder to climb onto the second-floor balcony of Pradip Karmakar’s house around 3:00 AM. They broke the door lock, entered the house, and held Pradip and his wife hostage at gunpoint. The robbers ransacked the house, breaking open drawers and stealing valuables, including:
Seven Bhoris of gold ornaments
Cash
Mobile phones
Gopal idols
Following the robbery, locals were alerted through an announcement made on the microphone of the local mosque. They chased the robbers, but the suspects managed to flee with the stolen goods.
