Samsung Unpacked’s “one more thing” was an unexpected twist. Following the main presentation, the company played a short, pre-recorded video teasing the Galaxy S25 Edge — not to be confused with the similarly named “Star Wars” theme park.
Although the reveal was brief, it confirmed earlier rumors that Samsung is developing an ultra-thin version of its flagship Galaxy S25. The Galaxy S25 Edge is likely to join the existing lineup, sitting alongside the S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra.
Details such as pricing, availability, and the exact thickness weren’t disclosed. However, the company showcased what seemed to be dummy models during the event. Rumors suggest the S25 Edge could measure just 6.4 mm thick — a significant reduction from the base Galaxy S25’s 7.2 mm.
Samsung appears to have intentionally kept the reveal low-key to maintain focus on the Galaxy S25 during the event. Even so, the Edge’s appearance at Unpacked might give potential buyers pause, especially early adopters who were considering preordering the S25 before its February 7 release.
For enthusiasts, the allure of a 0.8 mm reduction in thickness could be reason enough to wait.
