Role Overview
The New York Life Investments Summer Internship Program is designed for rising juniors and seniors eager to gain the skills and experience necessary to jumpstart their careers. This 10-week paid internship begins in June 2025 and offers positions at New York Life Investments Management and its boutique firms, Apogem Capital and MacKay Shields. Interns will participate in weekly events, including Lunch & Learns, Meet & Greets with senior leaders, and market calls, as well as training seminars, networking opportunities, and social events. Outstanding performers may be considered for a full-time analyst role upon completion.

Our model combines the agility of independent boutiques with the strength of a major partner. This summer, internships are available in Municipal Bond, High Yield, Fixed Income, and Marketing teams.
Internship Responsibilities
As an intern, your tasks may include:
- Developing and delivering individual and group presentations
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders across various functions (marketing, sales, compliance, etc.)
- Assisting in creating marketing materials (blogs, videos, presentations, etc.)
- Synthesizing research and analyses for product recommendations
- Supporting project management for new product launches or modifications
- Coordinating events, conferences, and seminars
- Conducting credit research and market analyses
- Participating in training seminars and networking opportunities
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for individuals eager to learn about New York Life Investments. You should have strong communication skills and technical, analytical abilities with a keen attention to detail. Previous internship experience or active contributions to campus or community activities are advantageous.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited institution, with an expected graduation between December 2025 and June 2027
- Preferred majors: Business, Finance, or related fields
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Future Opportunities
At the end of the internship, high-performing interns may receive an offer to join our full-time Analyst Program, a two-year rotational experience across various business areas.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with interviews commencing in mid-September.
Salary Range: $26 - $31/hour
Overtime Eligible: Nonexempt
Discretionary Bonus Eligible: No
Sales Bonus Eligible: No
Base salary will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location, with the potential for annual discretionary bonuses.
